Keep it Simple

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Of course, it is never good to overcomplicate plans or overthink your answers.

However, I would like to focus on the ability to keep emotions at bay and think about a problem pragmatically and calmly.

For years, when I reached a roadblock, I would find myself too emotionally invested.

  • I was sad about things too often.
  • I felt dissatisfied if not everyone was happy.
  • I held fears about endless “what if” scenarios without actually thinking them through

It blocked my ability to think clearly, and even led me to draw some pretty inaccurate conclusions.

The less I invest emotions (particularly the emotions of fear and frustration), the better my decisions are.
