Mountains and Valleys

What details of your life could you pay more attention to?

I wish I had a radar for trouble. The emotional aspects of life need particular attention because I often find myself giving my all, 100% of the time, and I forget to take moments of leisure or reprieve.

I enjoy the work I do. That isn’t limited to my job. I enjoy being active—the joy is in the doing. Being industrious is my favorite hobby.

There’s only one problem with that.

In the New Testament, there’s a scripture which admonishes the Saints to not run faster than they have strength, but to be diligent that they may win the prize.

I strive to be diligent because I find a lot of satisfaction in doing so. But sometimes I do try to take on too much or try too hard to do more than I am physically able.

This leads to disappointment and ultimately, I get discouraged.

If I could pay better attention to details, I would pay better attention to the good.

I would also pay better attention to my stamina, to pace myself.

What about you?
